The most viewed page on your real estate website (surprising)

Do you know what the most viewed page on any real estate website is?

I bet you don't. You probably haven't looked at the page in years.

And if you're like me, you probably didn't put very much effort in to this page.

It's the "About Us" page. **Queue everyone scrambling to go look at their own website**

See we are all brainwashed to believe that our clients see us as a commodity -- that no one can tell one REALTOR apart from another.

But that's a myth. The truth is people have never cared more deeply who their agent is.

In the age of amazon, smart-homes, and self-driving cars, people crave what I call "boutique" experiences.

Farm to Table restaurants are booming.

Homemade soap is suddenly a hot commodity. (Literally, the fastest growing beauty store in the world "Lush" sells organic handmade soap and deodorant.)

And so are the Boutique real estate agents.

The top-producers in your market all understand this key trend.

But wouldn't it be cool if YOU were a hot commodity? If people were literally clamoring to work with you. If you were constantly booked with listing appointments?

They will be, I guarantee it. And you can do it in less than 12 months.

That's what happened to my buddy Adrian from Indiana.

Here's how: Adrian was 12 years into his real estate career. Like most agents, he had a few good months and a LOT of bad months. Lately he had had even more bad months than usual. And he and his wife made a pact: Either something had to change, or he would quit real estate and apply for a 9-5 job.

When I was 7

Did you ever play with LEGO's as a kid?

On my 7th birthday, I received a 1,000-piece LEGO set — a pirate ship.

Overjoyed, I tore the box open and dumped out all the pieces.

Then my heart sank.

1,000 pieces looks a lot bigger and more complicated when it's laid out in front of you. I didn't even recognize some of the pieces. I would have to put this away until I was older. Some gift... 🙄

But before I put it away I looked at the instructions, and it started the same way all of my smaller LEGO sets had started:

"Step 1"

Hmm, well I guess I can do step one. It looks pretty easy.

Then I did step two, then three, and pretty soon I was in a flow.

90 minutes later I was clicking the final piece into place. That pirate ship was my magnum opus! And I was beaming with pride. I never thought I could do it.

Building a thriving real estate practice is a lot like staring at 1,000 oddly shaped LEGOs on the ground.

It *looks* impossible. But then, it starts the same way as every great business.

"Step 1"
