"BIG Shift" webinar will be Monday

After being in the industry for over 15+ years now, it seems like every 3-5 years there are some major shifts that happen.

Shaking things up big time in our industry.

I got licensed and into the real estate game in '08-'09.

Since then, just some of the highlights:

  • the fallout of the '08 debacle with REO's and short sales being most of deals
  • the changes in interest rates
  • the "shifting" we went through in '12 and again in '16
  • no less than 3 major updates & changes by Google (and other major internet players) that ended up favoring big platforms like Zillow and wiping out SEO rankings of individual agents who worked hard to get them
  • the Covid stuff in '19 and the social distancing in '20 that came through our industry like wrecking ball
  • the # of leads sold in the US to agents is higher than the total residents in the US (approx 350 million) and yet number of annual transactions hasn't grown past 6 million a year... so what's with the gap between 350 million and 6 million? (answer: agents are getting fleeced by big lead platforms and NAR isn't doing anything about it)
  • speaking of NAR... the ruling recently and settlement (roll right on over, why don't you...)

My point?

You can count on things to constantly change.

When things change, here's what I see every time:

  • a lot of agents get blind-sided and washed out of the industry
  • there's chaos for a while
  • within that chaos is opportunity
  • the first agents to see the opportunity (for the new way of doing things) and seize on it, end up earning the lion's share of the pie in the "bounce back"

I've seen this cycle time and time again.

And it's starting to happen again, right now.

So if you're the first agent to see the opportunity (and new way of doing things) in the coming chaos and changes, you'll be the one minting the lion's share of the fortune to be had in your local market.
